How on-site consulting and training works

This UTS service, available throughout the year, provides customised on-site training and education in the following areas:

• Vascular ultrasound

• Musculoskeletal

• Paediatrics

• Abdomen

• Obstetric and gynaecology

• Emergency medicine

• Intensive care

• Small parts - e.g. testes, breast, thyroid

Programs can be designed in a timely manner and at reasonable cost around topics to meet your needs - ranging in complexity from start-up to advanced in their respective specialty.

The UTS approach focuses on the development of practical skills and will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to gain operational competence. Training will focus on:

• learning your machine while you work in your own environment; and

• developing practical scanning abilities in 'real-life' and 'real-time'.

The length of time required will vary depending on the specialty sought, the experience level of the individual and the operational environment.

UTS can tailor an on-site program to provide:

• in house 'in service' small group training;

• one-on-one tuition;

• supervision of cases for accreditation;

• support following attendance at any ultrasound course;

• a 'start-up' system for obstetrics and gynaecology transvaginal scanning

In a group situation participant numbers will be limited to ensure each student receives the appropriate one-on-one personal attention required.

The on-site consulting and training service is appropriate for a range of operational environments, including:

• emergency departments;

• obstetrics and gynaecology departments; and

• general ultrasound practices.
