Ultrasound Training Solutions now offers you
the opportunity to have your images assessed for credentialling
by providing expert review of ultrasounds performed at your
location.
For a one off fee of AU$990
(inc. GST) Ultrasound Training Solutions professionals
can assess your case study images for the credentialling
process of The
Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM).
The registration fee provides
you:
-
a maximum period of two calendar
years from the date of payment to utilise the image credentialling
service; or
-
a minimum of 40 cases for assessment - 25 FAST cases,
and 15 AAA cases.
Potential registrants should
note that the fee will accommodate assessment of more than
the required 40 cases where a case is deemed by UTS to be
inadequate to enter into the credentialling process.

How it works
The image credentialling service offered by UTS is designed
to be simple, with rapid and accurate feedback assured.
Step one - register
Contact UTS to establish an image
credentialling account. On registration you will receive a
UTS guideline document.*
The guideline document contains a proforma image documentation
template. This template is designed to facilitate the image
credentialling process, and specifies the minimum number of
pictures, the size and format of pictures and the required
diagnostic and clinical notes.
Step two - acquire images
Acquire your images in the operational setting consistent
with the requirements of your accrediting body and the UTS
guidelines template.*
Step three - submit images
Submit your ultrasound images and clinical interpretation
over the internet in the format stipulated by the UTS guidelines
template.*
Step four - image review
Ultrasound Training Solutions experts will examine and assess
your images and clinical interpretations. Review time will
vary according to the number of cases submitted; however each
case will be assessed in a maximum of 14
days.
Images not received in the proforma image documentation
template will not be assessed.
On completion of the review process a UTS expert will contact
you to arrange a time to provide verbal feedback on your images.
Step five - image feedback
At a designated appointment time both you and a UTS expert
will discuss the ultrasound images. This will require that
you have the ability to view the images on a monitor while
the feedback occurs.
You will receive a verbal report detailing any technical
problems with your ultrasound technique and a review of your
interpretation of the ultrasound. This is like having an ultrasound
expert look over your shoulder as you are acquiring the ultrasound.
Feedback will be provided specifically on:
-
Technical parameters - measurement, transducer, preset,
gain, focus, orientation
-
Image quality - transducer choice, TGC, output power,
gain, dynamic range, focal zone, field of view, systematic
approach
-
Recognition of pathology
-
Ultrasound findings - image labelling, annotation, body
markers
-
Correlation with clinical findings
-
Understanding the limitations of ultrasound
Tips on how to improve your imaging will be provided, and
a UTS expert will also answer any questions submitted with
your original images. Written feedback will be returned on
the proforma where appropriate.
