START-UP ULTRASOUND WORKSHOP
IN FAST (SUWF) courses will be delivered in 1/3 theory and
2/3 practical sessions
The UTS SUWF courses are designed
as an introduction to FAST and are suited for registrars or
for those with limited time. This course is not designed to
meet the ACEM credentialing guidelines.
The SUWF course is overseen by
Dr. Jack Spencer and Dr.
Adam Bystrzycki, consultant emergency physicians.
Course objectives
At the conclusion of this course
you will be able to:

Understand the physical principles and artifacts of ultrasound

Gain experience in navigating the ultrasound system and
its features

Demonstrate proficiency in performing and interpreting
basic bedside ultrasound scans

Understand practical applications and limitations of
focussed ultrasound scans in the assessment of abdominal
and pleural fluid collections and trauma
